ladies and guys is g.i. joe a doll or action figure?

Question: the way is see it although g.i. joe is a male it is still a doll and the only difference between gi joe and a ken "doll"from matel is ken does not come equipped with weapons.so i would like to know who thinks gi joe is a doll and who belives he is an action figure and please state why.thanks to you all in advance :) just to expand further on why i am sking my husband says he won't let our son play with dolls when he old enough for toys like that.i feel that any doll that is plastic and a child plays make belive with is technicaly a doll.

Answer: Technically, YOU are correct... A doll is a child's toy that represents a baby or other human being, but includes likenesses of animals and imaginary creatures. Action figures are DOLLS representing superheroes and are particularly popular among boys. So... basically, G.I. Joe IS a doll, but falls under the action figure "category"... Just like a Barbie is a doll that falls into the "Fashion" category... Another point, just because a doll has or plays with a doll, regardless of its category, it WON'T turn his gender , If that is your husband's fear. My husband swore the same thing, and after going over this topic over and over, doesn't freak out AS MUCH if our 2 year old son plays with a stuffed animal or doll that belongs to my younger sister.
