What do you call the action of pulling back that slide on the side of an assault rifle?

Question: When operating an assault rifle, and you shoot out every round it has, when you put another clip in, you have to slide that thing back for the bullet to enter the chamber. What is this action called?

Answer: After you put a "CLIP" in your hair too hold it back from getting into your eyes you can then, pick up the "Semi-automatic" rifle or handgun and load a "Magazine" into the receiver or magwel. Pulling the "Slide or Action" rearward cambers a cartridge.
