can I be suspended from my golf club because of this?

Question: I used to work for the club that i am a member of, and because I have decided to take then to a Tribuneral for unfair dismissal, they have suspended my membership. Can they do this, and can I add it to any claim that i may have?

Answer: The question you asked is whether it gives you any additional claim for damages within your Tribunal claim. The answer is that it does not. Your claim for unfair dismissal (if successful) will attract a basic award and a compensatory award. The basic award is a set figure multiplied by the number of full years worked. The compensatory award is the amount you have lost in income since the dismissal plus an assessment of future loss. There is no claim available for 'suspension of membership' or similar. As to the rights of a private members club, the earlier answers are correct.
