What Spice can you use in place of Ground Cloves?

Question: I dont know about the rest of you, But I have checked the prices of Cloves and good Lord they are HIGHHHHH... I know that all-spice has Cloves in it, but is that enough to make the differance?

Answer: Nothing!!! If you recipe calls for cloves, that is what you should use otherwise the dish is not going to taste as it was intended. As a trained culinary professional I can state this as fact. Sure, you could use allspice as some have suggested, but I cannot emphasize enough how this will not give you the dish as it was intended to be.
